Quick Start: Playing Mad
ScientistAfter the opening movie, the Mad Scientist title screen appears, and the Mad Scientist music begins playing. To exit this screen, click the left mouse button or press any key. You will then be asked to select a player 'file'. If this is the first time you have played Mad Scientist, select Create New Player and then enter your name. On subsequent runs of Mad Scientist, you may either select this player file or create a new player file. These player files store your score and any 'saved games' for each level.
The next screen that appears is the Main Menu screen. From this screen, you may begin playing levels, change program options, or run custom level files. Read the manual section titled Main Menu, it gives a full breakdown of this menu. To start playing a level, select Play, which will bring you to the Level Select Map.
The Level Select Map is your gateway into the various levels of the
Mad Scientist Laboratory.
Each of
the rectangular buttons represents one of the levels. As you finish levels, more will become available.
The Level Select Screen section lists all the features of this map. Click
on one of the rectangles to
begin playing that level. Figure 1 is a picture of the Level Select Map.
